On June 16th, 2011, Miller-Cerasuolo represented a client in the Hanover General District Court in Hanover, VA. The client, a Rhode Island resident, was driving North on I-95 when he was pulled over in Hanover County for Speeding 88 mph in a 70 mph zone. The Officer did not charge him with a minor Speeding Infraction. Since he was driving over 80 mph, the Officer charged him with Reckless Driving by Speed- a Class 1 Misdemeanor, a Criminal Offense, Virginia Code Section: A.46.2-862. A Reckless Driving conviction also carries six demerit points which greatly affects the driver’s insurance. The client retained our services after a no-obligation phone consultation and did not have to attend Court as our Attorney could appear on his behalf. In Court, the Attorney was able to negotiate a plea bargain with the Judge and got the Reckless Driving charge reduced from a Misdemeanor to Improper Control, a minor Infraction, which carries three less demerit points and eliminates the possibility of a criminal record.
