On July 14th, 2011, Miller-Cerasuolo represented a client in the Dinwiddie General District Court in Dinwiddie, VA. In March of 2011, the client, a Maryland resident, was driving North via I-95 when she was pulled over for traveling 84 mph in a 70 mph zone. Upon further investigation, the Officer found she was driving on a suspended license. The Officer charged her with Reckless Driving by Speed, Virginia Code Section: A.46.2-862- a Class 1 Misdemeanor AND Operating a Vehicle on a Suspended License- a Class 1 Misdemeanor, Virginia Code Section: B.46.2-301. When the client did not attend her original court date on May 19th, 2011 the Court ordered a Capias for her arrest, Virginia Code Section: 18.2-456. After the client realized the severity of her offenses, she retained our services after a no-obligation phone consultation with our Attorney. In Court, our Attorney negotiated with the Judge and had the Capias charge completely dismissed, avoiding jail time, high fines and further license suspension. The charge of Driving on a Suspended License was reduced to a lesser charge of No License in Possession and the Reckless Driving charge was reduced to a minor speeding infraction.
